Independent Redistricting 

I have been endorsed by the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, as well as Fight for Reform, the state-level arm of End Citizens United & Let America Vote.

From my first day as a candidate in late 2015, I have said we must replace gerrymandering with a truly independent, impartial, non-partisan legislative redistricting commission for Congressional and state legislature districts so that voters will select their representatives rather than politicians selecting their voters.

I have introduced multiple bills in the House establishing such a commission, such as House Bill 69 during the 2019 session and House Bill 674 during the 2017 session. Although the bills died in committee, as long as I am a North Carolina legislator I will continue to reintroduce until it passes.
